Unusual visits to the wine cellars of Touraine and Anjou

Visiting the estates of Noiré and Montcy

Discover the vineyards of Chinon at Domaine de Noiré, listed as a "Cave Touristique d’Excellence" and situated in the heart of the Vignobles & Découvertes (Vineyards & Excursions) destination of Chinon Bourgueil Azay-le-Rideau.

The site offers a 7 km walk through the vineyards which will take you as far as the Royal Fortress of Chinon and gives you the opportunity to appreciate the Loire Valley countryside, here characterised by hillsides, the river Vienne and the beautiful town of Chinon. The experience can also be enjoyed by water aboard a traditional boat or at the gentle pace of a horse, in a horse-drawn carriage. At the end of the trip you can even enjoy tasting the estate's wines!

Discover the vineyards of the family-owned Domaine de Montcy, all grown organically, and taste its wines from three iconic AOC appellations: Cheverny, Crémant de Loire and Cherveny Court.
Depending on the season you can take part in various activities: a discovery trail in the form of a treasure hunt for young and old, or a harvest day and a picnic in the vineyards.

Enjoy a unique experience by spending the night in unusual wooden accommodation at Le Sens de la terre”, with a sauna and hot tub.

The cellars by Segway or bicycle: an unusual way to visit a wine cellar

Have you ever tried a Segway, that peculiar two-wheeled electric vehicle that whizzes you around while you stand on it? Try it out and you'll want one of your own! It will take you around the vineyard itself and through the cellars, with very little effort on your part and much quicker too!

With your Segway you can explore the large Caves Saint-Roch in Rochecorbon in the heart of the Vouvray winemaking region. A guided tour lasting an hour and a half will take you along the Loire and to the top of the hills and the famous Caves Saint-Roch, where delicious tasting sessions await you.

At Bouvet-Ladubay in Saumur, those looking for something out of the ordinary can hop on a bicycle to explore the underground tunnels of the hundred-year-old estate... Accompanied by a guide, each group of riders enters the depths of the tuffeau stone labyrinth by the light of their headlamps...

Discover another original idea in Montsoreau... all aboard the Etoile qui Rit! This toue cabanée (a traditional Loire boat) offers guided tasting sessions of Champs Fleuris wines, in the company of Denis Rétiveau, a local winemaker.
